2018 BMW 3 Series Review

From its powerful and sporty performance to its luxury interior, the 2018 BMW 3 Series is a sedan worth considering as your next vehicle. You'll find it at BMW of Devon, part of the Sloane Automotive Group, with many different styles and trims available to peruse on our lot.

The 3 Series is available in three separate body styles, and there are many ways to customize any BMW to your liking. That's why we've put together this review for drivers in the greater Philadelphia area, to explain performance options, interior amenities, and safety features you'll come to love as a driver.

BMW 3 Series Performance

The base edition of the 3 Series, the 320i, features a powerful 180-horsepower 4-cylinder engine, which produces 200 lb-ft of torque and a smooth, comfortable drive. It receives an EPA-estimated 24 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway; solid fuel performance for this luxury vehicle.

If you're looking for a bit more power, you'll find it with the 248-horsepower 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. This lightweight engine is perfect for those who enjoy being able to accelerate and maneuver on the highway with confidence. The BMW 328d is a turbodiesel-powered vehicle which produces outstanding fuel economy with its engine, up to 31 MPG in the city and 43 MPG on the highway, for those who do most of their driving on the highway.

3 Series Interior Amenities

When it comes to being inside the BMW 3 Series, you'll experience luxury the moment you sit down. The 3 Series has room for five people on standard synthetic leather seating. You can upgrade to power-adjustable front seats and leather upholstery for a more comfortable interior. When it comes to entertainment options, the 2018 3 Series is equipped with the iDrive infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay™ and a 16-speaker audio system as available options.

As there are three different body styles, that also means there are three different cargo set-ups. The sedan checks in with a 13 cu. ft. trunk, a decently sized trunk for a sedan in this class. Upgrade to the sports wagon style for 27.5 cu. ft. of space, best for longer items and even small furniture, or the Gran Turismo, which carries 24.6 cu. ft. of space.

BMW Safety Features

The 3 Series is equipped with numerous safety features that assist drivers. You'll have a standard backup camera, which can allow you to see what's going on behind the car when backing up. Blind Spot Monitoring is an available feature, with alerts provided when other drivers are in your blind spot.

The Forward Collision Warning technology is another advanced driver assistive feature, letting you know when a pedestrian or debris may be in front of the vehicle. If you can't stop the vehicle in time, brakes can be automatically applied to help avoid a potential collision.
