2019 Toyota C-HR LE Review

The dynamic 2019 Toyota C-HR is beautifully sculpted and well-designed inside and out. In this review, we're taking a closer look at the base edition of this model, the Toyota C-HR LE, to explain some of the key amenities, look at how it performs in Warrington and Devon, and discuss the safety features designed to protect you.

Sloane Automotive Group serves drivers around Philadelphia, Glenside, and Malvern, and is excited to tell you all about the latest edition of the 2019 C-HR.

Inside the Toyota C-HR Cabin

You'll feel at home inside this vehicle with its well-appointed and spacious interior, welcoming drivers and passengers alike. The Toyota C-HR LE trim features dual zone automatic climate control, with individual temperature settings for the driver and front passenger for optimal comfort. The leather-trimmed shift lever is a nice touch, as are the comfortable sport front bucket seats.

Tech-wise, the Entune™ 3.0 Audio with App Suite is the standard infotainment setup, and comes with six speakers, a large 8-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay® compatibility.

With Apple CarPlay®, it's easy to link up a smartphone to the touchscreen and read text messages, choose a song for your playlist, or use navigation features. The 4.2-inch TFT Multi-Information Display allows you to track temperature, fuel economy, and other important vehicle information.

Toyota C-HR Performance

A peppy 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine powers the 2019 Toyota C-HR. It delivers 144 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque, and is a fuel sipper, too. It receives 27 MPG city/31 MPG highway.1

This engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission, with selectable driving modes standard, allowing you to customize the drive you want to have. Sport mode offers a more dynamic driving experience, while the ECO mode helps save fuel. Use the normal mode for a blend of the two.

The MacPherson strut front suspension is sport-tuned, designed for taking on corners and handling turns with ease. At the rear, the multi-link suspension uses the uniquely designed shock absorbers to bring comfort when cruising through an urban oasis.

Safety Features

The standard Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P) technology provides a smarter drive every time you're behind the wheel.

Features include:

  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: This uses radar technology and a camera to detect the speed of a vehicle in front of you, and can adjust your speed accordingly.
  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection: Scanning the road ahead, this feature can identify objects like another vehicle or pedestrian, helping to brake the C-HR to avoid a possible crash.
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist: If a lane departure is detected, the system will provide an audible alert and visual warning, with corrective steering provided to guide you back to the lane.
